Heartbeats 2015 (Design: Anke Stache)

Are you in love with a German?

Some people say that the language of love is universal. But what happens when two people from different countries fall in love? On Heartbeats, bi-national couples tell their stories.

February is a month for celebrating the people we love.   But Valentine’s Day only comes once a year, and we want to celebrate bi-national couples all year long. If you are dating or married to a German, we’d love to share your story on the deutschland.de blog.

Tell us your story on Heartbeats…

Participants will need to send us the following (in English or German):

  1. Two pictures. Either two of you and your partner together, or one of each of you alone. (Be sure to specify who’s who.)
  1. A short text (1-3 paragraphs) from each of you. Introduce yourself (name, nationality, profession), tell us how you met, what languages you speak at home, and about the ups and downs of being in a cross-cultural couple.
  1. If you have the time, we’d also love to have a video of the two of you talking about how you met and some of the cultural conflicts, surprises, and joys you’ve experienced being together. Say something in German, wish our readers a Happy Valentine’s Day, and get creative.

These items will be shared on the deutschland.de blog, as well as on our facebook channels. If you have a blog or website you would like us to link to, we are happy to do so. Email your info to Alexander.Fallier@fs-medien.de.

Looking forward to hearing your stories.
